Set-up Fee: There are no set up fees for virtual private server (VPS) hosting plans. Some optional services may have setup fees.
Monthly Fee: Your fee for the next subscription period is due on the anniversary day of your sign up. Discounts are available for quarterly (5%) or annual (10%) plans.
Contract term: Monthly, quarterly and annual subscriptions are available. Quarterly (5% discount) and annual (10% discount) subscriptions are offered at a discounted fee. You may change the length of your term at any time without penalty.
Virtuozzo VPS with root: Our advanced hosting environment provides a true virtual private server (VPS) with root access, using advanced technology called Virtuozzo from Parallels (formerly SWSoft). Our "true VPS" service eliminates the security and reliability issues of shared hosting. Your environment will have all of the benefits of a server fully dedicated to your use, without the complexity and cost of a dedicated server. You will have root access and an easy to use control panel to administer your account. Virtuozzo is vastly superior to all other methods of implementing virtual private servers.
Dedicated IP address: Each hosting plan is issued a dedicated IP address for it's exclusive use. This means that your domain will not be at risk for blacklisting. Additional IPs are available for a monthly fee.
Toll Free Worldwide Phone Support: 24/7 technical support via the phone is provided for all hosting accounts. Customers that use Skype can place toll free calls directly to our company phone system at no charge. We also offer a local London phone number for our UK customers. These methods allow customers to access any department or individual in our company.
Phone/Chat/Email Support: 24/7 technical support is available by phone, email, and chat for all hosting accounts at no extra charge.
Service Level Agreement: Our service level guarantee (SLA) is your assurance that you will receive the best network performance, service management, and technical support in the industry. Guarantees are provided for service availability, network latency, packet loss, server availability and service request responsiveness.
30 day money back guarantee: You may cancel the service within the first 30 days and receive a full, unconditional refund of the hosting fee for your initial purchase. Domain registration, SSL certificates, setup fees for optional services, software and other items over and above the subscription fee are not included in the guarantee and are not refundable.
Control Panel/Virtuozzo Power Panel: All of our hosting plans can be administered using an easy to use Control Panel. Also included is an advanced Virtuozzo power panel which allows you to access, monitor, and control your Virtual Private Server. This panel allows you to see your actual server resource allocations and usage and has a built in SSH client.
System backups: All virtual private server plans have daily automatic system backups. Your entire environment is saved to a high capacity disk array, with a retention period of a minimum of seven days. Our sophisticated backup management system allows us to restore your entire environment from one of these backups in a very short period of time.
User managed backups: Through the control panel, this optional service gives you the ability to manage your own backups. The service saves a copy of your environment to a high capacity disk array. In addition, at no extra cost, the control panel allows you to easily download copies of files and directories directly to your local computer.
Private Mail Server (POP/IMAP/SMTP): Your VPS subscription has it's own private mail server. This will ensure that you are not impacted by anyone else's mail traffic. There is no limit on the number of messages you send or receive. However, we do not permit Spam to originate from our service. We offer a number of mail add-ons, including SquirrelMail and Open WebMail for browser access of your mail, and Mailman and Major Domo for mail list management.
Postini Spam/Virus Filtered Mail: By default, all customers that use eApps DNS service will automatically have their mail filtered by Postini at no extra charge. Postini is one of the most effective and easy to use SPAM filtering services available today. Customers that do not use eApps DNS will have the option to use Postini also. We fully support SPF. Your mail server is configured with SPF, to minimize spoofing.
Access to logs: Your control panel provides access to site traffic log files for downloading.
Operating System: CentOS 5 is the operating system. CentOS is the "white label" implementation of Red Hat Enterprise Linux, sometimes referred to as "Red Hat, without the hat." It is functionally identical to RHE, minus logos and proprietary applications.
Apache web server: Apache 2.2 is offered. This is the most powerful and efficient version of Apache ever, offering many advanced features
* Resource Allowances *
Disk Space: Each plan provides a large amount of usable disk space. Applications installed from the Control Panel do count against your allowance. However, due to the virtualization technology, the amount of disk used is considerably less than what would be consumed normally. Nevertheless, you should not install applications that you do not need. Disk space used in excess of the plan allowance is billed at $.01/MB per month. Your entire environment, including all services and data, is backed up in the daily system backup service at no extra charge. Please note that we use fast, reliable high speed drives.
Traffic: All traffic in excess of the plan allowance is billed at $1 per GB.
Memory: The number listed in the chart is your guaranteed memory. Many hosting companies promise high memory allocations and either overload the server or install minimal physical memory and instead rely primarily on swap. Our servers have a full complement of high speed DDR memory and are optimized to ensure that each VPS has ample, fast memory available. Please note that we offer many choices for optional application services. If you choose a high number of application services it will impact the effectiveness of your environment because each application service consumes memory.
CPU Allocation: Each plan has an allocation of CPU power, proportional to the price of the plan. Contact eApps for more information.
SPAM Free Mailboxes: Each plan provides for an unlimited number of SPAM free mailboxes that can be defined and administered easily using the control panel. Your mail will be filtered for SPAM and Viruses by Postini, a highly effective service. Our superior eMail service offers a comprehensive feature set.
FTP
accounts: FTP service is
available as an option, using the ProFTP server. If chosen, you may
have an unlimited # of FTP
users. Please note: To ensure the security of your data we
recommend that you use SFTP instead of FTP.
Domains/web sites: Each plan allows you to define and administer your domains (called web sites) in your control panel. Domains can be associated with sites, set up as an alias, or parked. eApps Hosting does not charge you for using domains in your VPS. Domains can be purchased from eApps at order time or later from the Control Panel. Existing domains can be transferred to eApps' registrar - eNom.
# Databases: Each plan allows an unlimited number of databases.
* Application Services *
Tomcat: The latest two versions of Tomcat are offered and supported. You may choose either Tomcat 5.5 or Tomcat 6. We have packaged the Tomcat servers for optimal performance. Also included in the package is Java Server Wrapper, which ensures the reliability of your JVM by restarting it automatically if it crashes or hangs. Our technical support representatives are Tomcat experts.
JBoss: JBoss is offered as an option. Our technical support representatives are JBoss experts. Please note that JBoss includes a bundled version of Tomcat. Please do not choose Tomcat when you choose JBoss. Also included in the JBoss package is Java Server Wrapper, which ensures the reliability of your JVM by restarting it automatically if it crashes or hangs.
GlassFish: GlassFish is a Java EE 5 compliant Java application server, derived from Sun's Java System Application Server Platform Edition 9. It is available as a one click installable application on our Standard Max and higher plans.
Apache Ant: Ant is a Java make utility, from the Apache Software Foundation.
Apache Derby: Derby is an open source relational database implemented entirely in Java, from the Apache Software Foundation.
Sun Java/mod_jk/mod_proxy_ajp We offer both version 5 and 6 of Sun's Java programming and run time environments. We support three approaches for running Tomcat - mod_jk integrated with Apache, mod_proxy_ajp integrated with Apache, or Tomcat standalone without Apache. These supported approaches offer the flexibility to deploy nearly any Tomcat application in the eApps Hosting environment.
KonaKart eCommerce: KonaKart is an osCommerce compatible shopping cart written in Java.
eAccelerator: eAccelerator is a free open-source PHP accelerator, optimizer, and dynamic content cache. It increases the performance of PHP scripts by caching their compiled state to almost completely eliminate the overhead of compilation. It also optimizes scripts to speed up their execution. eAccelerator typically reduces server load and increases the speed of your PHP code by 1-10 times.
ionCube Loader: ionCube Loader is an extension to the PHP interpreter which allows the execution of ionCube-encoded files. ionCube develops software products for PHP, including an encoder which protects and encrypts software written in PHP. ionCube Loader is a free software module that will let you run software which has been protected using the ionCube Encoder.
osCommerce: osCommerce Online Merchant is an Open Source online shop e-commerce solution that is available for free under the GNU General Public License. It features a rich set of out-of-the-box online shopping cart functionality that allows store owners to setup, run, and maintain online stores with minimum effort and with no costs, fees, or limitations involved.
Ruby
on Rails: eApps offers Ruby on Rails
for all plans. The plans are optimized for Ruby on Rails and provide an
ideal environment for developers. Mongrel and mod_proxy_balancer are fully supported. FastCGI is also supported.
PHP/ Zend Optimizer: All hosting companies offer PHP. Our PHP is designed for the Power User. We have an impressive list of PHP modules available for your use. A link to a modules list can be found in the Application Versions lists for each plan. Just return to the plans list, scroll down to the Applications section and click the link for versions.
ImageMagick/GD: ImageMagick, the popular software suite to create, edit and compose bitmap images is available. GD, the website programmer's dynamic image generation tool is also available.
CGI / Perl / Python: CGI, Perl and Python on supported.
Linux Development Tools: If you need a C compiler and other standard development tools that are available in the Linux operating system you may select this option, at no additional charge.
MySQL: All hosting plans have access to a private instance of the MySQL database server at no extra charge. The phpMyAdmin interface is available to administer the MySQL server. You may install your own MySQL administration tool if desired or you can administer the database server from your local administraton tool.
PostgreSQL: All VPS hosting plans have access to a private instance of the PostgreSQL database server at no extra charge. The phpPgAdmin interface is available to administer the PostgreSQL server. You may install your own PostgreSQL administration tool if desired or you can administer the database server from your local administraton tool.
SQLite: All VPS hosting plans have access to a private instance of the low overhead SQLite database server at no extra charge.
Spam Assassin/ClamAV: Your own private instance of the popular Spam Assassin anti-spam program is available with every plan. We also offer the highly effective Greylist Filter. Please note that with the Postini service, it is generally advisable to NOT use Spam Assassin, Greylist and ClamAV as these applications consume resources and are really not needed.

Mail: We offer webmail solutions. SquirrelMail
is a full featured web mail system that supports IMAP and is our recommended choice. We also support Open
Web
Mail.
Majordomo w/ Autoresponder: Majordomo, a program which automates the management of Internet mailing lists, is available for all plans.
Mailman mail list manager: Mailman, a popular mail list manager, is available for all plans.
SubVersion/CVS: The increasingly popular Subversion, the compelling replacement for CVS, is available for all plans. CVS, the Concurrent Versions System, is also available as part of the base environment.
SSH/SFTP/ProFTP: In addition to the file managers available in your control panel, SSH and any other SSH based access method such as SFTP and WinSCP can be used to access your VPS. At no cost, you may also select the ProFTP server for FTP access.

Darwin Streaming Media Server: Darwin Streaming Media Server, the open source version of Apple’s QuickTime Streaming Server technology that allows you to send streaming media to clients across the Internet using the industry standard RTP and RTSP protocols.
IceCast Server: Icecast Server, the Free server software for streaming multimedia. IceCast allows you to send streaming audio to clients across the Internet using the industry standard MP3 protocol. It is functionally the same as SHOUTcast, but is reportedly more efficient and has some nice additional features.
OpenLDAP: OpenLDAP, the popular implementation of the Lightweight Directory Access Program is available with all plans. The easy to use phpLDAPAdmin utility is available with all plans that use LDAP.
Joomla: Joomla! is a full-featured content management system that can be used for everything from simple websites to complex corporate applications.
Drupal: Drupal is an increasingly popular content management system that that is similar to Joomla.
WordPress: WordPress is is one of the most popular and widely used blogger applications available today. For casual and advanced users.
OpenVPN: OpenVPN is an SSL based Virtual Private Network that provides an extremely high degree of security without the complexity of IPSec based VPNs. OpenVPN will allow you to have a secure tunnel between your client computers and the eApps host server for the purpose of file sharing or application access. The setup fee covers setup and authentication certificates for the host server and one client computer. Additional clients certificates can be created by you, or us for a small fee.
X Windows / VNC: X Windows and the VNC remote access service are supported in all plans.
SSL: ssl is also available as an option. This allows you to secure your web site using a commercial SSL certificate or a self signed certificate that can be generated and installed from your control panel.
yum: yum an automatic updater and package installer/remover for rpm systems. It automatically computes dependencies and figures out what things should occur to install packages. It is configured to use the CentOS repository by default. You do not need to use yum to install or upgrade eApps supported applications as these managed using your control panel.
* Other Options *
CoyotePoint Load Balancer: Our load balancer service is implemented using the CoyotePoint Equalizer, a hardware appliance designed to ensure high application availability. Customers will need to purchase a load balancer subscription, available in our store, for each VPS server that needs to be included in a load balanced cluster.
Custom firewall config: We can open or close ports and protocols according to your specifications for an additional fee. This service is generally not needed unless you need to open ports that are closed in our gateway firewall or have specific firewall needs. You have the ability to lock down your VPS using the built in IPtables at no extra cost.
Site monitoring: Our servers are monitored and administered 24/7/365 to ensure maximum up time.
For additional protection of your VPS, we offer a supplemental monitoring service. This service is usually configured to perform web page monitoring. For web page monitoring, our monitoring system will periodically access a specific web page and attempt to read text found on the page. If the text is not found an alarm is initiated. When an alarm is initiated we will alert you automatically and/or take action to restart the application at your option. The service can also be set up to perform protocol monitoring, where our monitoring system will periodically make a request to a specific protocol. If the protocol does not respond, an alarm is initiated. Please note that this service is over and above the server level monitoring that we do. The fee is $10 per month per monitor process.Priority Support: Priority Support has two benefits. 1) Priority - your support requests will receive a higher priority than other requests of the same severity level. Please understand that the severity of a support request is always considered, regardless of whether a customer has Priority Support or not. Our top priority is to minimize outages. 2) Pager - You will receive a special phone number that allows our phone call routing process and support representatives to recognize your Priority status. There is a monthly fee for the Priority Support option.
SSL Certificates: You may purchase Alpha or GlobalSign Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) certificates from our store which we will install at no extra charge. GlobalSign is a very respected, world-side vendor of SSL certificates. We also sell Thawte and Verisign certificates upon request. The purchase price included installation on the Apache web server. There is a small service fee to have us install customer provided certificates. Customers may also install a free, self signed certificate. Customer is responsible for annual renewal fees on the SSL certificate. Please visit our store for prices.
